airBaltic receives gold rating in Sustainability index 2022

Latvian airline airBaltic has received rating in Gold category in the Sustainability index 2022. This is the second time that airBaltic has participated in the evaluation procedure. Previous year airBaltic received rating in the Silver category.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “Sustainability is one of the key drivers for our operations. Therefore, we are pleased that this year our efforts in implementing various sustainability practices are appreciated. Our goal is to continue moving forward on the same path of growth, as well as to introduce ever new solutions in order to reach the top rating category in next year's Sustainability Index. We think greener, we fly greener.”

Dace Helmane, Chief Executive Officer and Responsible Business Activist of InCSR: “Companies that meet at least 80% of the criteria are in the Gold category of the Sustainability index. They demonstrate openness and transparency by purposefully planning and implementing responsible attitudes not only towards their employees and customers, but also environmental sustainability. Every responsible company is aware that sustainability requires constant reviewing and improvement of existing activities, therefore it is important not to stop at what has been achieved and to set new and challenging goals.”

Sustainability index is a strategic management tool based on an internationally recognized methodology. It helps Latvian companies to determine the sustainability of their operations and the level of corporate responsibility. At the same time, it provides the public, state and non-governmental organizations with objective criteria to praise and support companies that help strengthen the Latvian economy in the long run. The participants of the Sustainability index represent courage, openness and commitment to improve their performance. Such organizations can not only influence the development of their industry, but also contribute to the sustainability of the country as a whole.
